Feferity Presents PERISCOPI INVERTIT Live

As we lunch into 2019, Feferity presents a Catalan band from Spain at the Ritzy bringing the Latin grooves on the dance floor.
Periscopi Invertit (Reversed Periscope) is a multicultural band that mix Catalan folk melodies with rhythms of funk/Latin/jazz arrangements and the African influence while keeping their connection with some Mediterranean sounds and grooves. A special featured musician from the Congo MULELE MATONDO will add some Kinshasa flavour in the mix.
Mireia Carbonell is the band leader bass player, composer and music educator from Catalonia graduated as a performer at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona. In 2015, she recorded Kendi Yolanda album and got a record deal with Topkapi Müzik. She performed in several festivals like Africa Oyé Festival in Liverpool, 15th London African Music Festival at Vortex (London), Journeys Festival in Leicester, Rising Sounds Festival at the Roundhouse (London), The big festival, Village Beach Festival and Green Village Festival with different artists like Mim Suleiman, Nelson & Friends and Malunga. Mireia has played for other ensemble like Koroleko.
Periscopi Invertit has their main singer Laura Guarch who is also a composer, performance maker, pedagogue and workshop leader from Catalonia based in the UK. Karim Dellali plays the darbouka, djembe and other percussion instruments. He has played with Joi, Oojami and Trevor Watts Moire Music and is also very active DJ. He has always surrounded himself with both North African music and Western Music. Benji Bown is a pianist and composer from north London, working mainly in jazz. After studying classical music in Leeds, he returned to London to pursue jazz piano and film music composition, as well as postgraduate study in philosophy.
