Charlotte is British of Sierra Leonean parentage. She is the author of Black in White, a new book of poems describing some of her experiences of racism and unconscious bias as a black woman working in the predominantly white corporate environment over 25 years. She was a Partner in a top 10 global communications agency before setting up her own consultancy in 2016. A former journalist,
she uses poetry as a means of telling stories in a way that’s easy to understand and absorb. The poems in Black in White are insightful and illuminating, with titles including ‘Behind my mask’, ‘The security guard, the cleaner and me’, ‘Square peg, round hole’, and ‘If I were white’.
